Boys & Girls Club of Schenectady Receives $10,000 Grant from Bank of America

dsc_0830Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady received a $10,000 grant from Bank of America Charitable Foundation to support the organization’s new Teen Career Development Initiative. The grant award was presented by Bank of America at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady’s Annual Meeting held at Mohawk Golf Club.

The Teen Career Development Initiative is a comprehensive effort that encompasses proven Boys & Girls Club Career Development programs and dynamic original programming with the aim of creating teen employment opportunities and arming Schenectady Boys & Girls Club members age 13-19 with 21st Century Skills and a plan for the future. The Teen Career Development Initiative uses a three-component approach to provide meaningful work experience: applied skills development, career exposure and youth development services.

“We are excited about this partnership with Bank of America that will help to make great futures possible for Schenectady youth”, said Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady Executive Director Shane Bargy.
