Best Fitness Creates and Launches New Group Training Program

Best Fitness has created and launched B-FITT, a completely new concept in the Capital Region and beyond which uses a heart rate monitored full body training method in line with popular trends in the industry. This small group exercise program, supported by science, was designed by fitness directors at Best Fitness to cater to individuals who are inspired to take their fitness goals to the next level without the higher cost of hiring a personal trainer. Best Fitness is launching B-FITT in several facilities across the Northeast and has worked to develop the program over the past several years using both in-house expertise and external knowledge gained from top leaders in the field.

One of the contributors is Fitness Director Craig Boyarsky who is located at the Schenectady facility. His years of experience and passion for helping others assisted the team in designing a class intended for all ability levels. “We developed a structured program template to fit everyone’s needs. We can now attach a heart rate monitor to a client and they can actually see how hard they are working and how many calories they are burning. This works to motivate them and helps us when it comes to coaching them,” he said.

Best Fitness is launching the B-FITT Group Training program in seven of their health club locations. They may add additional locations in the upcoming months.

The program is a 60-minute, heart rate monitored class that combines strength and cardiovascular training for a full body workout. The class follows a high intensity interval training method with exercises that focus on the three major areas of the body; upper body, lower body, and core training. It is designed to produce results at all fitness levels and each class is completely unique. The heart rate monitor is a key tool for instructors to monitor the wide variety of participant levels in each class. “The system we developed allows people to track their progress and holds them accountable to their workouts. As we launch, we are excited to see connections among group members develop. We expect that clients will become friends and will support one another as they work towards their fitness goals,” said Boyarsky.

“A few years of testing, research and team collaboration has gone into creating our B-FITT program. It’s designed to produce results and leave our clients feeling their best and reaching their goals,” said Best Fitness CEO Dave Dos Santos. “We take away the guess work, so you can come in and get a workout done in 60 minutes that is going to work the muscles in every zone of your body.”

The B-FITT program was based on the F.I.T.T principle, a set of exercise guidelines that factor into achieving the best results for the individual. The guidelines are Frequency; how often you exercise, Intensity; how hard you exercise, Time; how long you exercise, and Type; what kind of exercise you do. Some of the exercises you can find in a B-FITT class are kettle ball swings, medicine ball slams, planks, squats, and plenty of moves utilizing the TRX suspension trainers. Attendees can also keep track of their performance, and check out how they compare to others during class with available heart rate monitors. They can even receive an end of workout email with statistics on their overall class performance.

An additional benefit is that participants can also add in some individual personal training, if they choose, or they can simply use the wide variety of equipment and weights the gym has to offer. This allows people to switch routines up and enhance what they are learning in class.

“At Best Fitness, we are always striving to offer our members more. Small group training classes like B-FITT are the future of fitness, and we are excited to be one of the first gyms in the Northeast to offer this premium level programming to our members and the community,” said Dos Santos.
