Berkshire Farm Center & Services for Youth Names Brian Parchesky as New Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Directors of Berkshire Farm Center & Services for Youth, a statewide child welfare agency spanning 45 counties throughout New York State, has announced the appointment of Brian Parchesky as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Parchesky previously served as President & CEO of a child welfare agency in Elmira, NY. He is a senior faculty member with the ANDRUS Sanctuary Institute in Yonkers, NY, where he provides training and consultation to agencies nationally and internationally that are adopting a trauma-informed model of treatment and organizational change. “Helping our children and families learn, grow and fulfill their potential requires a complex understanding of how negative experiences can limit their thoughts, feelings and behaviors,” says Parchesky. “I’m pleased to lead Berkshire as it continues its journey as a trauma-informed agency.”

Parchesky currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Council of Family and Child Caring Agencies (COFCCA) and serves on the Executive Committee of the Juvenile Detention Association of New York State. He is also an active member of both the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities as well as the New York State Coalition for Children’s Behavioral Health.

“Brian Parchesky brings to Berkshire qualities of dynamic, executive leadership and a deep understanding and commitment to trauma-informed care,” stated Bob Kandel, Berkshire’s Board Chairman. “His exceptional track record in leading nonprofits to achieve a trauma-informed culture will enhance programming under our mission of strengthening children and families so they can live safely, independently, and productively within their home communities.”
