Berkshire Communicators, Inc. 551 Fenn St. in Pittsfield turns 80 years old in 2018. Started in 1938 by Lillian Belcher the company has been owned and operated by the Gore family of lee since 1973. “We are proud to achieve this milestone and thank our loyal employees and faithful clients who helped us achieve it.” Says Julie Gore Mooney the second generation president. In 2009 the company acquired Hudson Valley Message Bureau in Poughkeepsie, NY and with current telephone SIP and fiber trunk technology processes all their calls from the Pittsfield office.
Starting with 8 telephones on the dining room table the company has grown to a Pinnacle computer assisted answering system processing over 50,000 calls a month as well as 126,000 alarm signals. They employ 23 full and part time operators and administrative staff.
