Berkshire Bank Opens New State-Of-The-Art Branch in Downtown Albany

Community Open House April 16-20

Berkshire Bank announced the opening of its latest branch, an innovative approach to the traditional bank landscape in downtown Albany, NY located at 30 South Pearl Street, across the street from the Times Union Center. Berkshire advanced its commitment to both innovation and serving the Capital District, which has long been a key growth market for the bank.

The new 3,000 square-foot branch with a modern design has been renovated to make room for community meeting space, relationship managers and advisors and packs a high-technology punch with all teller transactions handled by virtual bankers using the MyTeller℠ machine and the branch’s two staff members. The open floor plan concept is designed to engage customers and provide individuals and business owners with helpful information to enhance their financial relationships.

In addition to the retail banking space, Berkshire leases space on 2 floors in the same building, which includes its regional executive leadership, Commercial Real Estate & Industrial Lending, Business Banking and SBA Lending. The location also offers private banking and wealth management services for affluent customers.

As part of the grand opening celebration, a ribbon cutting reception will be hosted on Tues., April 17, 2018 at 11 AM EST.   In addition, the branch will host an open house week for the community to meet the team and tour the new facility and try the technology from Mon., April 16 through Fri., April 20, 2018. Product specials, giveaways and refreshments will be provided and the public is invited to attend.

“Part of Berkshire’s commitment to the Capital District includes improving the banking experience for our customers and investing in communities. This expansion allows us to efficiently and effectively provide financial advice, outstanding service, and build relationships with people and businesses,” said Jeff Stone, Senior Vice President of Retail Banking, “We wanted the branch to be relevant and designed the space with that in mind. The concept at 30 South Pearl is part of the bank’s effort to maintain the relevancy of branches at a time of increased mobile banking,” he added.”
