Berkshire Bank Hires John DeVito, SVP Government Banking Director

Berkshire Bank, America’s Most Exciting Bank®, has announced the appointment of John A. DeVito as Senior Vice President, Government Banking Director. DeVito brings with him extensive industry knowledge and executive leadership skills that will continue to strengthen the Berkshire Commercial Banking Team.

Working with local and state municipalities, DeVito will offer cost-effective solutions to create efficiencies within their banking operations.  Areas of focus include, but are not limited to deposit services, cash management, short-term note financing, equipment financing, and insurance services.

Prior to Berkshire Bank, DeVito held a senior leadership role at KeyBank where he managed the government banking line of business. He was responsible for national municipal business within the bank and the overall performance, profitability, deposit growth, municipal credit portfolio and enterprise commercial payments collaboration.

DeVito holds a Bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College and continued his education at Sage Graduate School, where he received a Master’s of Business Administration. John resides in Averill Park, NY where he is a member of both the NYS Government Finance Officer’s Association and the NYS Bankers Association. He serves on multiple committees for both organizations.
