Benetech Launches NYS Sexual Harassment Training Solution

Benetech is excited to announce the launch of its NYS Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Solution. In response to new state regulations mandating written sexual harassment policies and mandatory annual training, Benetech has developed an affordable series of webinar trainings through which employers can meet the new law’s requirement to complete annual training and train all new hires within 30 days of employment.

“We wanted to deliver a simple and affordable solution that allows employers to meet the requirements of the new regulation,” says John Panichi, Benetech CEO. “By delivering a live and interactive web-based training, we are able to give employers a convenient training solution for as low as $27 a month.”

The law applies to all state employers, both public and private, with one or more employees. The deadline for publishing updated sexual harassment policies is October 9, 2018, and the law further requires employers to complete initial training for all employees (to include nonemployees that are part of the workplace) by January 1, 2019.

“Given the January 1 deadline, we know that there will be a lot of employers scrambling to complete their training,” shares Matt Ingold, Benetech Director of Business Development. “Right now, we have 26 webinar opportunities leading up to next year. We’ll continue to add more as the demand dictates, but employers can also schedule a private webinar session for their employees.”

Signing up for the webinar subscription is a simple online process. Ingold adds, “We have a simple online registration page. In 60 seconds, anyone can sign up and start registering for training webinars. From there, we give employers everything they need to keep track of who has completed the training.”

Furthermore, the regulation has significant implications on employers bidding government work in NYS. Starting January 1, 2019, every bid made to the state, or any public department or agency of the state must certify under penalty of perjury that the bidder has a compliant written sexual harassment policy and provides annual sexual harassment training to all of its employees.
