August 19, 2026Bank of Greene County Charitable Holds Award Ceremony at Wolf Road Branch
Local nonprofit organizations gathered at Bank of Greene County’s Wolf Road branch to receive funding from Bank of Greene County Charitable Foundation, supporting projects that strengthen and enrich communities throughout Albany County and the surrounding region.
As part of this year’s giving efforts, the Foundation is awarding $534,000 to 532 nonprofit organizations, providing critical support to programs that address a wide range of local needs.
Funded projects in the Albany and Capital Region area reflect a strong commitment to education, cultural enrichment, youth development, and community support. Highlights include arts and educational programming for children and adults, museum and family engagement initiatives, mentoring programs, financial literacy education, scholarships, and opportunities that expand access to learning, recreation, and personal growth. Funding is also supporting programs that enhance access to the arts, music, cultural experiences, and family engagement opportunities throughout the region.
Additional grants are helping address critical community needs through food assistance programs, healthcare and supportive housing services, resources for children and families facing health challenges, and support for veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. Funding is also strengthening public safety through the purchase of emergency response equipment, and supporting community development, accessibility improvements, environmental and recreational initiatives, and organizations working to improve the quality of life across the Capital Region. A full listing of funded organizations can be found on the Bank’s website at www.tbogc.com/about/giving.
“The organizations receiving support are making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families throughout the Capital Region,” said Jake Groesbeck, Wolf Road Branch Manager, Bank of Greene County. “From educational and cultural opportunities to programs that address critical community needs, these projects help strengthen communities throughout the Capital Region and create opportunities for people of all ages.”
“These projects reflect the impact that local organizations have on the communities they serve,” added Don Gibson, President and CEO of Bank of Greene County. “Whether supporting educational opportunities, providing critical health and human services, assisting veterans and military families, or helping individuals access essential resources, these investments help strengthen communities and improve quality of life throughout the Capital Region.”
Since its founding in 1998, Bank of Greene County Charitable Foundation has donated over $4 million to local nonprofit organizations throughout the region. These contributions support a wide variety of initiatives across education, health and wellness, social and civic services, the arts, and affordable housing.
Bank of Greene County and its Charitable Foundation will continue to dedicate time and resources to organizations that enhance the quality of life throughout the greater Hudson Valley and Capital Region. Grant applications are accepted annually between December 1 and January 15. More information is available at www.tbogc.com.
