Ballston Spa National Bank recently welcomed the arrival of two student interns at their Corporate Offices in Ballston Spa.
Justin Durand of Southwick, MA will be interning with the credit department. Going into his sophomore year at Siena College, Durand plans to graduate in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in finance. Following graduation Durand plans on finding a job in upstate NY, an area he loves to share with his family. During his time at BSNB, Durand will gain experience supporting commercial credit and lending, calculating spreads, analyzing personal and business tax returns, analyzing cash flow, and researching business customer information.
Haley Chaykowski-Jewett of Petersburgh, NY will be interning with the marketing department. Jewett graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Johnson & Wales University Charlotte, NC. This fall Jewett will be attending the University at Albany to start working towards her MBA. During her time at BSNB, Jewett will conduct market research, draft social media and website content, create digital signage, and assist with BSNB events, sponsorships, and promotions.
The year-round paid internship program has been active at BSNB since 2013. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. The interns are responsible for a wide variety of tasks and are expected to work up to 16 hours a week during the school semester and full-time during breaks and over summer vacation.
