Ballston Spa National Bank Makes Matching Donation to Regional Food Bank

Ballston Spa National Bank (BSNB) recently presented a $5,000 donation to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. The donation brings the bank’s financial support to $10,000 during the pandemic and more than fulfills the bank’s promise to match funds donated by the community to support the food bank’s services.

“We know that times are challenging for many of us as a result of COVID-19 and we’re thrilled by the $2,003 in personal donations raised within our community. Combined with the bank’s donations, I’m hopeful we will make a difference for those in need,” said Christopher R. Dowd, BSNB president and CEO.

In addition to the financial support, BSNB volunteers recently hosted two drive-thru food pantries resulting in food assistance for more than 1,300 people benefitting from the events.

“As the need for emergency food assistance continues to grow, we are so grateful for partners like BSNB who are finding new ways to help and raise awareness,” said Bethany Stiles, Director of Marketing and Communications, Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. “The financial contributions resulting from the bank’s matching challenge, combined with BSNB’s generous donations and support from their employee volunteers, allow us to provide thousands of meals to people in need. We are so grateful for their continued involvement.”
