July 28, 2020Ballston Spa National Bank Hosts Fifth Drive-Thru Food Pantry
Extends Matching Campaign to Support Regional Food Bank of NENY
Ballston Spa National Bank (BSNB), in conjunction with the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York and the Ballston Spa Central School District, is hosting a contactless drive-thru food pantry on Thursday, July 30, beginning at 9:00am in front of the Ballston Spa High School located at 220 Ballston Ave. The free food distribution event will be open to area families and individuals in need of food assistance.
Thanks to the Regional Food Bank, an anticipated 18,000 pounds of food will be distributed at the event, including fresh produce, dairy, frozen meats and non-perishable food items. BSNB volunteers will welcome attendees and load boxes of food into each vehicle’s trunk.
The event is open to the public and free of charge. Patrons will receive food on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. All volunteers will follow CDC guidelines by wearing appropriate masks and gloves while actively practicing social distancing.
“The Food Bank has been a much-needed resource for people impacted financially by COVID-19,” stated Christopher R. Dowd, BSNB president and CEO. “Since March, we’ve supported the Food Bank’s efforts with volunteering as well as by contributing company donations of $20,000 and raising nearly $5,000 more in community contributions. Because the need still exists, we’ve extended our campaign and will match up to another $5,000 in community donations. We ask that you please consider joining us by contributing to this worthy cause.”
Members of the public wishing to support the Regional Food Bank under BSNB’s matching campaign may donate directly via the Regional Food Bank’s donation site and selecting ‘BSNB Matching Campaign’ as the donation designation. Additionally, checks may be made payable to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York and dropped off at any BSNB banking location or mailed to BSNB, ATTN: Regional Food Bank Matching Campaign, PO Box 70, Ballston Spa, NY 12020. The match applies to donations received now through July 30, 2020.
