Baker Public Relations Celebrates 15 Years of Client Success

Baker Public Relations, a woman-owned, full-service communications firm headquartered in Albany, N.Y., is coming off the heels of celebrating a major milestone that many businesses aim to reach. Company executives were joined by past and present employees, clients and community partners at the Renaissance Albany Hotel to mark 15 years of client success.

During the event, Baker Public Relations President and CEO Megan Baker reflected on the firm’s success and announced plans for a noteworthy expansion.

“When I look back on the early days, I cannot help but take tremendous pride in where we are today,” said Baker. “Thanks to our highly talented team and the trust of our clients, we have enjoyed incredible growth.

“But we are just getting started,” said Baker. After adding several new staff in the past couple of months, we will be welcoming three more in the coming weeks. Our client portfolio continues to grow and in the next several months, we plan to add a third office in the Tampa Bay region.”

“Baker Public Relations has been great to work with,” said Dr. Steady Moono, SUNY Schenectady President. “Responsive, committed, understanding the mission of the institution. And in fact, we feel that there is no dissonance between the community college and Baker Public Relations. They are just part of the family. They have been integrated into the fabric of SUNY Schenectady County Community College.”

Baker founded the firm in 2007 after a decade in television news. What began as a one-person entity in a small Albany office, the firm has grown to become one of the most reputable agencies in the Capital Region with an extraordinary team of PR and marketing professionals, a second office in Pittsburgh, and its own in-house creative services studio producing high-quality video content and podcasts for its clients. Since its inception, Baker Public Relations has represented more than 240 businesses, nonprofits and organizations spanning New York, Pennsylvania, California, Oklahoma, Colorado, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

“I first met the Baker team when I was working for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region,” said Jeff Yule, executive director, Building on Love, Inc. “They were always there for us when we had a special project, they were gracious enough to introduce us and our work to many of their clients and brought new donors, supporters and volunteers to the table.”

In honor of its 15-year anniversary, Baker Public Relations committed $15,000 in pro bono public relations support to Pittsburgh-based organization, The Allignment Chapter, that helps low-income single mothers stay aligned with their financial obligations while maintaining a stress free household by providing everyday necessities.

Additionally, Baker Public Relations announced the creation of two annual scholarship funds in the amount of $1,500 each. Called the Baker Public Relations Women in Communications Scholarship, female high school students from Shaker High School and Butler Senior High School pursuing a career in communications can apply. Baker, who was born and raised in Butler, Pa., graduated from Butler Senior High in 1992. Baker’s identical twin daughters currently attend Shaker Middle School.

“This scholarship will help one of our students achieve her dreams,” said D. Joseph Corr, superintendent, North Colonie Central School District. “My thanks to Baker Public Relations for supporting the North Colonie school community and the success of one of our future communicators.”
