Attorney Brittnay McMahon Named as Outstanding Young Professional Philanthropist

Brittnay McMahon was honored by the Hudson-Mohawk chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals as recipient of the “Outstanding Young Professional Philanthropist” award. The presentation, held November 14 at the Troy Hilton Garden Inn, was part of a daylong event held in honor of a National Philanthropy Day to recognize the “next generation of philanthropy.”

A Board Member and Treasurer of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Schenectady, Brittany was nominated by Tish Czachor, the BCGS Director of Advancement, for her work over the past three years as chairperson of the Campership Campaign which raises funds to send under-privileged children from Schenectady to summer camp.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals awards had previously focused solely on youths who raised funds, however, this year they wanted to also honor young professionals under 40.

An attorney in O’Connell & Aronowitz’s Residential Real Estate, Litigation, and Wills, Trusts & Estate practice areas, Brittnay was named to the 2017 Upstate New York Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers, which acknowledges attorneys under 40 years old and in practice 10 years or less. She currently serves as Vice President of the Adirondack Women’s Bar Association in addition to her work with BCGS.
