Javid Afzali an associate with Whiteman Osterman & Hanna in Albany, New York, was recently named one of Super Lawyers’ New York Rising Stars. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Less than 2.5 percent of lawyers in the state receive this recognition.
Mr. Afzali joins the previously rated New York Rising Stars from Whiteman Osterman & Hanna which include: Leonard J. D’Arrigo, Jason M. DiMarino, William S. Nolan and Robert A. Stout, Jr.

Mr. Afzali is an Associate in the Firm’s Environmental and Litigation, Arbitration and Mediation Practice Groups. His practice is primarily concentrated on land use and environmental permitting and litigation, as well as general commercial litigation. Mr. Afzali is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals of the Second Circuit and all four Federal District courts in New York. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Albany County Bar Association, and a member of multiple not-for-profit and for-profit boards.
