Annese Invites former White House CIO & Cybersecurity Authority, Theresa Payton, to Deliver Keynote Address at SightLine 2017

Annese & Associates Inc., a Clifton Park-based technology solutions integrator with offices in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Utica and White Plains, is pleased to announce today that the keynote address for SightLine 2017 at the Albany Capital Center will be given by former White House cybersecurity expert and TV star, Theresa Payton. SightLine is an annual event hosted by Annese that brings together hundreds of leaders from across New York and the Northeast to discuss the intersection of business, technology, and innovation.

As the first female to serve as White House Chief Information Officer, Payton is one of America’s leading experts on internet security, data breaches, and fraud mitigation. She is CEO of Fortalice Solutions, a security consulting company specializing in helping organizations in the public and private sectors protect their most valuable resources against cybercrime.

A veteran of the cybersecurity industry, Payton’s experience in providing real-world strategies and solutions against cyber threats helped her become head of intelligence for the new CBS TV series “Hunted,” where a team of expert investigators, led by Payton, work to expose fugitives on the run using state-of-the-art tracking methods and technology.

“The world will spend over a trillion dollars to try to stop cybercrime between now and 2021, yet the estimated global cost of cybercrime could hit $6 trillion by 2021,” said Theresa Payton. “That’s a pathetic and unacceptable ROI. Cybersecurity is fundamentally broken and we need a bold, new approach to beat the bad guys. I am excited to join Annese at the SightLine 2017 conference to discuss this bold, new approach.”

“Annese could not be more thrilled to welcome Theresa Payton to SightLine 2017 as our highly anticipated keynote speaker,” said Ray Apy, President & CEO of Annese. “With an impressive career entrenched in the cybersecurity and intelligence industry, the unique insights and first-hand experience protecting organizations against cybercrime that only Theresa can deliver will be a tremendous learning opportunity for all attendees. We expect SightLine participants to be able to apply Theresa’s key takeaways to their own organizations as we all continue to ‘fight the good fight’ against cyber warfare.”

SightLine 2017 will take place October 17-18 at the recently opened Albany Capital Center, and will feature breakout sessions and hands-on workshops around today’s emerging technologies, as well as unique opportunities for networking and entertainment.
