Alpin Haus to Host Annual Ski-Toberfest in Advance of Upcoming Winter Season

Alpin Haus, one of the Northeast’s largest outdoor recreation retailers with seven stores in the Capital Region, Hudson Valley and Northern New Jersey, recently kicked off its seasonal ski and snowboard rental program in advance of Ski-toberfest, the annual winter ski equipment and apparel sale, this year slated for Saturday, October 17.

Ski-toberfest will feature live music, food and drinks, games, giveaways and special savings on skis, boots and bindings at Alpin Haus in Amsterdam, Clifton Park and Latham. Store hours vary by location and are available at AlpinHaus.com.

The retailer’s ever popular and innovative Skis on the Haus program also returns for the 2026 winter season. The brainchild of founder Bud Heck, whose vision was to offer every child the opportunity to get out on the slopes, Skis on the Haus provides children, ages five and under, free seasonal and snowboard leases. Children must weigh at least 35 pounds at the time of their fitting.

“Just like Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, our annual Ski-toberfest combined with the launch of our Skis on the Haus program symbolizes the unofficial start of winter for Alpin Haus,” said Alpin Haus President Andy Heck. “This is such a fabulous time of the year for outdoor enthusiasts as we enjoy the colors of the fall with great anticipation of the upcoming season on the slopes. We look forward to Saturday’s Ski-toberfest celebration!”

Alpin Haus features premium brands of rental skis and snowboards for adults and kids, including K2, Volkl, Nordica, Blizzard and more. All rental equipment is tuned by their expert staff using a precision Wintersteiger Mercury automated tuning machine, ensuring customers a great skiing experience.

Seasonal and daily rentals and leasing of skis include boots and bindings in Amsterdam, Clifton Park and Latham. Snowboard rentals are available exclusively at Amsterdam and Clifton Park.

Currently celebrating more than six decades in business, Alpin Haus offers the best outdoor recreation equipment in the region and unrivaled customer service.
