September 3, 2025Alpin Haus Launches Seasonal Ski Ands Snowboard Rentals For The Upcoming Season
Alpin Haus, one of the Northeast’s largest outdoor recreation retailers with seven stores in the Capital Region, Hudson Valley and Northern New Jersey, recently kicked off its seasonal ski and snowboard rental program, in advance of an inaugural “First Chair Sale,” slated for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12 and 13, at the Amsterdam and Clifton Park stores.
The First Chair Sale will feature seasonal rentals of skis and snowboards and storewide specials. Guests will be invited to bring in their skis and boards for the first tune-ups of the season. The Clifton Park store will also hold a tent sale to supplement its First Chair Sale.
“This is always an exciting time of year for us because winter sports gear is what we initially featured at our flagship store in Amsterdam when my father launched the business in 1964,” said Alpin Haus President Andy Heck. “Shopping for winter sports equipment now begins earlier than ever with demand surging right after Labor Day in advance of the start of the ski and snowboard season. Our teams are skilled at matching style and skill levels of each guest with the perfect skis and snowboards as we look forward to hitting the slopes.”
Skis on the Haus, a program that has gained tremendous popularity over the years, is back for the 2025 winter season. The brainchild of founder Bud Heck, whose vision was to offer every child the opportunity to get out on the slopes, Skis on the Haus provides children, aged five and under, free seasonal and snowboard leases. Children must weigh at least 35 pounds at the time of their fitting.
Alpin Haus features premium brands of rental skis and snowboards for adults and kids, including Atomic, Blizzard, Lib Tech, Nordica, Stockli and more. All rental equipment is tuned by their expert staff using a precision Wintersteiger Mercury automated tuning machine, ensuring customers a great skiing experience.
Seasonal and daily rentals and leasing of skis for this winter include boots and bindings and are available at near-by Alpin Haus locations in Amsterdam, Clifton Park and Latham. Snowboard rentals are available exclusively at Amsterdam and Clifton Park.
