AlbanyCanCode and KingstonCanCode Announce Appointment of Stew Meyers to Board of Directors

AlbanyCanCode and KingstonCanCode, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a new generation of software coders in New York, today announced the appointment of Stew Meyers, executive vice president and chief technology officer of Exago, to its board of directors.

Meyers co-founded Exago, an ad hoc reporting, business analytics and intelligence company, in 2006. With 80 information technology and business professionals working out of its office in Kingston, the company serves nearly 200 clients worldwide.

Previously, as the sixth employee of financial tracking software company Transcentive, Meyers played key roles as lead developer and vice president of development, helping grow the firm to more than 300 employees. Transcentive was later acquired by Computershare, a large public financial services company, aided by investments from Merrill Lynch and Paine Webber.

“We are delighted to welcome Stew to the board of directors, where his expertise and experience will be tremendous assets to our growing organization,” said Annmarie Lanesey, Founder and CEO of AlbanyCanCode and KingstonCanCode. “We look forward to harnessing his real-world knowledge and insight to benefit our students and programs, and to broadening the board’s perspective with the addition of our first Hudson Valley representative.”

AlbanyCanCode and KingstonCanCode were formed to shift the mindset about who can work in technology. The organizations design and deliver computer coding and workforce training courses to develop non-traditional talent, helping to build a vibrant, inclusive tech talent pipeline aligned with the needs of employers, educators, and the community in general.

“I’m thrilled to bring my passions for both technology and the community to support the outstanding mission of AlbanyCanCode and KingstonCanCode,” said Meyers. “These educational and training programs are more important than ever as the world shifts to a virtual business environment. I’m excited to join this forward-thinking organization and eager to contribute to its continued growth.”

More than 250 individuals have graduated from AlbanyCanCode and KingstonCanCode classes since its launch in 2016.
