July 13, 2017Albany Public Library Board of Trustees Elects Officers
The Albany Public Library (APL) Board of Trustees has a new slate of officers. Trustees unanimously approved the appointment of the following officers at the July 11 meeting:
- President Karen Strong
- Vice President Andrew Bechard
- Vice President for Finance Alison Calacone
- Secretary Brenda Robinson
These officers will serve July 2017 through June 2018.
Two new trustees were sworn in at the meeting: Jenna Pitera and Sarah Shearer. Both are starting five- year terms. Robinson, who just finished serving a one-year term, was also sworn into a full five-year
term.
The APL board also appointed Matthew Finn to serve on the Upper Hudson Library System board. APL is the central library for this consortium that serves the 450,000 residents of Albany and Rensselaer
counties.
The APL board meets the second Tuesday of each month. The public is invited to attend and provided two opportunities to address trustees at each meeting.
