Albany NLL to Hold ‘Name the Team’ Contest

Albany NLL announced that the team will hold a ‘Name the Team’ contest giving Capital Region fans a chance to voice their input on the organization’s name, logo, and branding ahead of its inaugural season.

Fans can submit their ideas for the new team’s name via the team website at www.AlbanyNLL.com now through Sunday, February 28 at 12 p.m. Once the name submissions have been collected, the top six names will be open to a fan vote on the team website that will run through Friday, March 12 to determine the official name of the team.

“We want this to be the Capital Region’s team, and giving the fans a voice and having them lend a hand in the direction of our brand identity will ensure that,” said George Manias, team President. “We are excited to start receiving submissions, make our ultimate decision based on fan and ownership input, and ultimately see what our team name, logos, colors, and overall brand identity will be. This dictates everything for us moving forward.”

The organization will unveil the team’s official name, logo, and brand identity at an event that will be open to the public and media (New York State COVID-19 restrictions and rules will apply). The date and location of the event will be announced at a later time. The individual who first submits the winning team name for the organization will receive two season tickets for the inaugural 2021-22 season, a signed team jersey, memorabilia, and on field recognition at the inaugural season’s home opening game.

Fans can secure their place to have first selection of their seats by joining the team’s priority seating list. A $50 refundable deposit grants fans the first opportunity to purchase tickets for the upcoming season once tickets are officially on sale in April.
