Albany Institute to Offer Free Admission on November 12 in Observance of Veterans Day

The Albany Institute of History & Art will offer free admission to the galleries on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 10AM–5PM. This free admission day is sponsored by M&T Bank.

Current exhibitions include
• Thomas Cole’s Paper Trail
• A Menagerie of Whimsey: The Art of William B. Schade
• Birds and Beasts: The Scary, Magical, and Adorable Animals of the Albany Institute
• The Hudson River School: Landscape Paintings from the Albany Institute
• Ancient Egypt
• Traders & Culture: Albany and the Formation of American Identity.
Guests are invited to participate in drop-in art making featuring a project about bald eagles in the Art Studio from 10AM-4:30PM.

In addition, inspired by our animal-themed exhibitions, the Albany Institute of History & Art is pleased to host Capital Region organizations that advocate and support animals in our community for “Friends of Animals Day.” Throughout the day, guests can meet representatives from the following organizations and see how they can get involved:

• Adirondak Save-A-Stray (starting around 11am)
• AnimalKind NY
• Equine Advocates
• Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (10am-2pm)
• Orange Street Cats
• PAWS
• Whiskers Animal Benevolent League
• Whispering Willow Wild Care (12pm-3pm)
Please note: Groups may bring live animals with them. Schedule is subject to change.
