Albany Institute to Offer Free Admission on Columbus Day

The Albany Institute of History & Art will offer free admission to the galleries on Monday, October 9, 2017 from 10AM–5PM. This free admission day is sponsored by M&T Bank.

Current exhibitions include Well-Dressed in Victorian Albany: 19th Century Fashion from the Albany Institute Collection, The Hudson River School: Landscape Paintings from the Albany Institute, Spotlight: Albany & Anti-Suffrage, Ancient Egypt, and Traders & Culture: Albany and the Formation of American Identity.

There will be a docent led gallery tour at 1PM. The Museum Shop will also be open for guests to enjoy. Crisan Café will be open 11:30AM–3PM.

Monday is also the last day of the museum’s LEGO® Building Challenge. There is a $5 per person fee to participate in the contest which will have building sessions on Saturday from 11AM–1PM and 2–4PM, Sunday from 1–3PM, and Monday from 11AM–1PM and 2–4PM. This year’s theme is nature and ties to the museum’s exhibition The Hudson River School: Landscape Paintings from the Albany Institute. Registration is required for this event.
