Albany Firewolves Introduce Winter Box Program

The Albany FireWolves, of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), announced the introduction of the Junior FireWolves Winter Box Program. The co-ed program is an instructional platform developed by the FireWolves organization and consists of practices, scrimmages and tournaments all led by USBOXLA and FireWolves trained coaches.

Team placement evaluations for the program will take place on Wednesday, November 3 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the program set to begin on Saturday, December 4. Registration opened at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15 and runs through November 1 at 5 p.m. All sessions will be held at the Knickerbacker Sports Facility, located 191 103rd St, Troy, NY 12182. The Junior FireWolves Winter Box Program is presented by Precision Lacrosse.

The program will consist of five groups, perfect for any age or experience level: Novice, Peewee, Bantam, Midget, and High School Elite. Each level of the program will feature USBOXLA and FireWolves trained coaches and special appearances, instruction, and development from FireWolves players and coaches. In additional, Junior FireWolves players will be treated to play one scrimmage game at the Times Union Center on the FireWolves’ home field.

“As we continue to prepare for our inaugural season, we are tremendously proud to roll out the second session of our Junior FireWolves programming,” said George Manias, President of the Albany FireWolves. “The success of our summer program really proved to us that this IS a lacrosse market, so we are continuing our grassroots efforts and our goal of growing the game by now offering our winter session.”

The Winter Box Program will also provide players the opportunity to compete in local and regional lacrosse tournaments throughout the session. The players will have the opportunity to compete on the select Junior FireWolves team and play against other NLL select teams while representing the Albany FireWolves.

“For the youth lacrosse players in the Capital District, we encourage you all to register now!” Manias added. “There are limited spots, so if you want to learn the box game, play on the FireWolves field, be trained by the best coaches in the area and receive all kinds of great FireWolves perks, sign up now!”

Members of the Junior FireWolves Winter Box Program will receive a pinnie, Junior FireWolves jersey and shorts (excluding the novice level), one free ticket to a FireWolves home game with discounts on additional tickets, discounts on Epoch lacrosse gear, access to custom Epoch and Junior FireWolves gear and apparel, discounts on equipment at Precision Lacrosse, and much more!
