Albany County Reveals Exciting New Partnerships for 3rd Live Life Local Event

The leaves may have changed color to red, yellow and orange but things will get a little greener in Guilderland this Saturday. Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy joined the Guilderland Central School District, GreenRenewable, Inc., CDTA, Monolith Solar and other partners this morning at Farnsworth Middle School to unveil details about Live Life Local: Reduce*Reuse*Recycle Extravaganza taking place this Saturday, October 24 from 8am to 2pm at Farnsworth Middle School, 6072 State Farm Road, Guilderland.

This year’s event will be jointly hosted by Albany County and the Guilderland Central School District as the school celebrates its 10th community recycling and reuse extravaganza.  In addition to offering both residents and non-residents of Albany County free recycling and donation opportunities, this year’s Live Life Local event will feature many local businesses that are doing their part to help reduce Albany County’s carbon footprint.

“I’m always talking about the importance of partnerships,” said McCoy.  “And this year’s Live Life Local event really brings together so many businesses that all share the same passion for being environmentally conscious. By working with the Guilderland Central School District, we’re able to showcase great local businesses but also to connect people with the resources they need to help make Albany County the greenest in New York State.”

The extravaganza will include presentations and demonstrations from sponsors including GreenRenewable Inc., CDTA, Monolith Solar, Smilemonster and many others.

“The Guilderland School District and the community at-large have shown a great dedication to environmental stewardship over the years. The success of this annual event points to that fact,” said Sean Gallivan, President and CEO, GreenRenewable, Inc. “As a company that works to repurpose organic waste from communities in Albany County and beyond, GreenRenewable is proud to participate in this event and we thank the County Executive’s office for placing priority on the need to reduce our carbon footprint collectively.”

Vendors taking part include B’s Honey Company, Mountain Winds Farm, Dali Mamma, A Natural Way Café,  Made by Linda, Honest Weight Food Co-op, Albany County Soil and Water Conservation District, Field Goods, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Black Creek Farm, Helderberg Community Energy, Albany County Department for Children, Youth and Families, Huff ‘N Puff, Renewable by Andersen, Future Cities, Affordable Housing Partnership, Albany Pine Bush Preserve Commission, Guilderland Chamber of Commerce, County Waste and Recycling and CM Fox Real Estate.
