ADNET Technologies Helps Scholars and Mentors Connect

Capital Region Sponsor-A-Scholar, a college access and success program, thanks ADNET Technologies for its generous support of Sponsor-A-Scholar’s mentoring initiative. Sponsor-A-Scholar, which works in Albany, Schenectady and Troy’s public high schools, matches college-educated adults with promising 10th graders. Mentors work individually with students throughout high school and through the student’s first year of college. ADNET generously sponsored a welcome bowling event that matched new Scholars with their mentors.

Robin Christenson, executive director of Capital Region Sponsor-A-Scholar, highlighted the importance of community support and the value of mentors to the overall effectiveness of the program: “We are grateful for ADNET’s longstanding support of our program. Thanks to Jeff Cohn, and the rest of his team, we were able to connect our Scholars and mentors at a fun bowling event earlier this fall. Mentors truly are the ‘special ingredient’ that helps our Scholars succeed.”

Jeff Cohn, principal of ADNET said: “We support Sponsor-A-Scholar because we know that the world is a better place when individuals can communicate. Education is one of the basic building blocks to allow communication. Sponsor-A-Scholar gives young individuals the framework to educate and advance themselves and then to pass their knowledge on to further generations. What could be better for the world?”
