AAA Northway Celebrates New Mohawk Harbor Office in Schenectady

AAA Northway has been serving residents throughout the Capital Region since 1907, providing trusted roadside assistance, travel services, insurance products, and member benefits to more than 177,000 members across a 13-county service area. With Schenectady home to the largest concentration of AAA Northway members, the organization has maintained a longstanding commitment to supporting the community while evolving to meet the needs of generations of travelers and families.

The Capital Region Chamber joined elected officials, community leaders, and AAA Northway representatives to celebrate the opening of the organization’s new office at Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady. The ribbon cutting marked an exciting new chapter for AAA Northway while reaffirming its deep roots in the city it has served for more than a century.

Assemblymember Angelo Santabarbara and Senator Jim Tedisco shared personal stories about the value of AAA membership and presented citations recognizing the organization’s contributions to the community. Both highlighted the essential services AAA provides and its positive economic impact throughout the region.

David Buicko, President and CEO of the Galesi Group, welcomed AAA Northway to Mohawk Harbor, noting the organization’s long history in Schenectady and the importance of businesses and employees contributing to the area’s continued growth and vibrancy.

David Hogenkamp of Schenectady Metroplex congratulated AAA Northway on more than 120 years of service and highlighted Schenectady’s ongoing revitalization efforts, including projects that continue to strengthen connections between neighborhoods and downtown.

AAA Northway President and CEO Jim Phelps thanked members, employees, and community partners for their continued support. He recognized Office Manager Melissa for more than 30 years of leadership and reflected on the organization’s growth from a few hundred members to more than 177,000 members throughout the region. Phelps also acknowledged the local partners who helped AAA remain in Schenectady following devastating floods years ago.

The celebration concluded with gratitude for the community’s support and excitement for AAA Northway’s future in its new Mohawk Harbor location.
