St. Anne Institute Opens New Runaway Homeless Shelter

On Friday, June 1 the St. Anne Institute held a ribbon cutting for their new Runaway Homeless Shelter. The shelter is located in the Bishop Howard J. Hubbard Hall and is open 24/7/365 to any youth, male or female, from ages 13 to 17. The Shelter provides resources and referrals to medical care, education, employment, substance abuse and mental health counseling. The shelter staff also provides independent living skills, self-care and medication monitoring. The Chamber was proud to be part of the welcoming committee, which included many local elected officials. We realize the importance of such programs in our community and congratulate St. Anne on their continued work to change the direction in so many young people’s lives!
