8th Annual “Paws in the Park” Walk- A Whole New Ballgame

It’s a new season and location for the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society’s 8th Annual Paws in the Park Walk for Animals, presented by 4 Paws Veterinary Care. The walk and family day takes place at the Joe Bruno Stadium, 80 Vandenburgh Ave. in Troy on Saturday, October 14 and runs from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event still features all of the fun activities that supporters have come to enjoy, plus some great new additions. Participants can register online at www.mohawkhumane.org or call 518-434-8128, ext. 206 for further information.

Participants may walk as individuals or as part of a team, with or without a canine companion. Walkers collect pledges and earn prizes based on the amount raised, ranging from T-shirts to Amazon Echoes.

Activities include the Doggy Fun Zone, where dogs can safely try out agility equipment with the aid of professional trainers, a Blessing of the Animals, nail clipping and microchipping for dogs, K-9 demos, dozens of vendors, a variety of food and beverages, including beer, plus music and special guests. Animal guests include baby goats from HeartsHerd Animal Sanctuary and Bacon Bits, the Therapy Pig. There will also be contests with prizes for Best Costume, Pet and Parent Look-Alike, and Best Trick.

The event raises money to help the Humane Society care for thousands of the Capital Region’s animals through sheltering and adoption, veterinary care, animal enrichment, cruelty investigation, low-cost spay/neuter and many more programs that keep animals safe in our community.
