Stakeholders Hold Inaugural Town Hall on Veterans and Military Families

The Stakeholders Inaugural Town Hall on Veterans and Military Families was held on November 12.  The event was attended by veterans, military family members, service organizations, counties, higher education and business leaders.  Needless to say, our discussion was amazing and needs to continue.

A Task Force has been formed that is convening business leaders, nonprofit organizations, county veteran service officers and higher education institutions to assess how to best serve the veterans and military families in our community and to develop a plan for meeting those needs.  Your input is crucial. Being a member of the task force is also a great way to network with other Veteran Service organizations, busineeses who support the community, higher education and government officals.

On January 14, at 12 noon, the first official meeting of this new task force convened at Excelsior College. The second meeting will take place on February 11, at 12 noon at Excelsior College.  Task Force participation is open to members of the Stakeholders.  Membership Information may be found on the website when you click the “join” tab.

More information about the task force may also be found under “Veterans and Military Families” tab.  Your membership contribution assists The Stakeholders in hosting and staffing this program.  County Veteran Service officers are invited to attend as their guest.  If you have questions please contact The Stakeholders at the email below.

The Task force meeting agenda will include planning for another Town Hall, establishing a governance structure by selecting chairs/co-chairs, committees, and establishing the process through which we can receive information and determine what projects/tasks must be undertaken. The Stakeholders would like to thank Berkshire Bank, Key Bank, Price Chopper, Castle Rock Ranch Group, Omni Development and Fingerpaint for joining them and lending their early support. They would also like to thank Excelsior College who will host this meeting and have stepped up in a big way to provide the Task Force with resources.
