5th Annual Kids & Clays Open Raises More Than $50,000 for RMHC® of the Capital Region

Guan Ho Ha Fish & Game Club in Scotia, NY, held its 5th Annual Kids & Clays Open on Saturday, September 9, and raised a remarkable $114,404 to support critically ill children and their families. Net proceeds from the popular sporting clay event are divided evenly between Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Capital Region (RMHC-CR) and the Kids & Clays Foundation, which supports participating RMHC® chapters nationwide. Since its inception in 2019, the Kids & Clays Open has raised more than $387,000 for the two organizations combined.

“For five years now, Guan-Ho-Ha club members and guests have come together to make the Kids & Clays Open a huge event with huge impact,” said Steve Paige, one of the event founders. “We’re proud to see this event grow year after year to make a truly meaningful difference for families with sick children.”

On Tuesday, December 12, Guan-Ho-Ha club members will visit the Albany Ronald McDonald House to present their donation, totaling more than $57,000. Club members will also cook dinner for families at the House as part of RMHC-CR’s Love is Served meal program.

“We could not be more grateful for the support we receive from the Kids & Clays Open at Guan-Ho-Ha,” said Kimmy Venter, interim CEO for RMHC of the Capital Region. “In addition to raising critical funds that help us deliver our programs and services at absolutely no cost to families, this event allows us to connect with our community and share our mission with more and more people every year.”

The 5th Annual Kids & Clays Open drew more than 185 participants and guests who enjoyed a day of sporting clays, as well as dinner, a silent auction, raffles, and more. Guan Ho Ha Fish & Game Club is grateful to all who participated and sponsored the event, as are RMHC-CR and the Kids & Clays Foundation.
