38 Year Employee of St. Margaret’s Center Receives LeadingAge New York Award

Judith Cahill, a Child Care Technician (CCT) at St. Margaret’s Center in Albany, a pediatric and young adult skilled nursing facility which is a division of the Center for Disability Services, was presented with a LeadingAge New York Long Term Care Employee of Distinction Award for 2015, on October 15. Cahill, who has worked at St. Margaret’s for 38 years, was honored for her dedication and passion, as well as her efforts to provide the highest quality care to residents who are infants, children and young adults with disabilities and complicated or chronic medical conditions. Cahill was acknowledged for engaging with families, providing continuity during times of transition, and mentoring staff while modeling an excellent work ethic and positive behavior.

Kristen Myers, Vice President of Member Services and Marketing at LeadingAge New York, and Mary Beth Carswell, representing the office of New York State Senator Neil Breslin, participated in the brief ceremony. Carswell presented a legislative proclamation and a resolution.

Cahill was one of only 18 employees out of thousands from across the state selected to receive the prestigious LeadingAge New York Long Term Care award, which recognizes the extraordinary efforts of front line staff.
