25 Doors – 25 Years of Building Affordable Housing

Habitat for Humanity of Schenectady County (HFHSC) has partnered with C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios and local artists to transform old doors into modern art. Each door is unique and the artists all come from diverse backgrounds, just like our community. Go to FACEBOOK (Create Community Studios and Schenectady Habitat to see doors!)

“HFHSC is grateful for the participation in this project and proud to serve our community for 25 years.” says Madelyn Thorne, Executive Director of HFHSC. “We are thrilled to be able to auction these fabulous doors off at our upcoming event BUILD-A-BASH (9/27/18).” The proceeds will support projects, including our upcoming 2019 Veterans Build.

On hand to speak, Mayor Gary McCarthy, states; “I am proud to host a door here at City Hall. Each door represents the dream of homeownership and how partnerships, such as ours with Habitat can build stronger neighborhoods.” Also, Dr. S. Moono, President of Schenectady County Community College shares; “I am pleased to host a door by a local artist and professor at SCCC, along with participate with Schenectady Habitat to build the future for families and students.
