First New York Federal Credit Union Legacy Branch at Mohonasen High School Ribbon Cutting

On Thursday, December 7,  the Capital Region Chamber and Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce teamed up to cut the ribbon with First New York Federal Credit Union for the new, student-run Legacy Branch at Mohonasen High School! It was our pleasure to support this, the latest in financial institutions partnering with schools to help students learn financial literacy and gain skills that will help them in their personal and professional lives in the years ahead. First New York Federal Credit Union was represented by President & CEO Lucy Halstead, VP Marketing and Business Development Justin Cresswell, and Membership Development Officer Michelle LaVoy.

Thank you to Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara for supporting the event, assisted by his associate Yuliano Camarena who is a fairly recent graduate of the high school! It was also good to reconnect with longtime CSSC Business and Education Partnership committee participant Laurel Logan-King, who is now Asst. Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for the Mohonasen Central School District, as well as Mohonasen HS Principal Craig Chandler who used to be one of the Assistants at Shen.

Norris Pearson, who leads the Rensselaer Chamber and made the trek to Schenectady County along with Membership Manager Orion Parrillo.

Looking forward to seeing what the future holds for these talented young students!

All 2023 ribbon cuttings of the Capital Region Chamber and its affiliates are sponsored by the Saratoga National Bank & Trust Company.
