Rivers Casino & Resort – January Entertainment

Guests will experience the soulful sounds of R&B great JOE, the uplifting music of Ray Charles during the Forever Ray dinner show, and the excitement of one of the best rock bands in the world, Van Halen, with Completely Unchained, when all three incredible acts perform at the Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Event Center in January.

Tickets to the Forever Ray dinner show go on sale Wednesday, November 20 at 10 a.m. and tickets for JOE go on sale Friday, November 22 at 10 a.m. Tickets are available at riverscasinoandresort.com, tickets.proctors.org or the Proctors Theater Box Office in Schenectady. Completely Unchained is free and exclusively for Rush Rewards members with tickets available on the day of the of the show starting at 8 a.m.

Friday, January 10: Rush Rewards guests will be able to experience the ultimate tribute to Van Halen with Completely Unchained. This group of four talented and creative musicians recreates an unmatched Van Halen production including all the attitude, sounds, excitement, energy and, most of all, fun that Van Halen brought to the stage as one of the greatest rock bands in the world. Completely Unchained reproduces the very best of the classic original Van Halen lineup, then merges the “Van Hagar” era with some David Lee Roth solo hits, to complete a whole catalog of some of the best hard rock songs ever recorded. All Rush Rewards members may receive 1 complimentary ticket at the Rush Rewards Center on the day of the show starting at 8 a.m. Limited first-come, first-served seating will be available. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Guests must be 21+ to receive a ticket at the Rush Rewards Center.

Sunday, January 19: R&B fans will be in heaven when 7-time Grammy nominee, singer, songwriter and record producer, JOE, brings his catalog of chart-topping R&B smash hits to the stage at the Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Event Center. A self-described “country boy” born in South Georgia and raised in Alabama, JOE learned to play the guitar and piano while developing his vocal skills in church. After relocating to New Jersey in pursuit of a musical career, he notched his first R&B top 10 for Mercury Records in 1993 with “I’m in Luv”. JOE hit his stride in the mid-‘90s with the R&B and pop crossover smash “All the Things (Your Man Won’t Do),” and in the 2000’s sealed his reputation as an R&B superstar with a string of hits including “All That I Am,” “I Wanna Know,” and “No One Comes Close”. JOE’s memorable collaborations with Mariah Carey (“Thank God I Found You”), Big Pun (“Still Not a Player”) and G-Unit (“Wanna Get to Know You”) further underscored his musical versatility. Doors open at 6 p.m., the show begins at 7 p.m. and tickets start at $40.

Thursday, January 23: Fans of the legendary Ray Charles will experience his entire range  of musical styles – from jazz and blues to country and R&B – during the uplifting Forever Ray dinner show at the Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Event Center. The members of Forever Ray are loaded with talent having performed or recorded with Ray Charles himself, along with Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Christina Aguilera to name just a few. This amazing show starts at 7 p.m and includes a fantastic meal with a “Come Rain or Shine” Caesar salad; a “Mess Around Grits” entrée (chicken & shrimp grits, classic collard greens, and peach gastrique); an “I Believe My Soul Pie” for dessert (Pecan Pie with peach whipped cream); and a “Georgia” Sunset signature drink. All dietary restrictions can be accommodated by request. Coffee, tea and soft drinks will also be served. Tickets are $30.
