SEFCU Donates $260,000 Across its Regions to Rescue Missions and Food Pantries

SEFCU has once again provided significant year-end support to many struggling rescue missions and food pantries in the Capital Region by donating $142,000 to local organizations. In total, SEFCU presented checks for $260,000 across the state today as part of this effort. This is the eighth year that the credit union has made donations to rescue missions and food pantries.

The donation reflects SEFCU’s long-time commitment to giving back to the community. The credit union focuses on a number of issues including homelessness, food insecurity, and the problems facing families who do not have adequate food to meet family members’ needs.

“We’ve been providing these year-end funds to area food pantries and missions for eight years and each year I hope it would be our last because that would mean we have solved the issues of food insecurity and homelessness. But, as long as there are people hungry and in need of shelter, SEFCU will be there for them,” said Michael J. Castellana, president and CEO of SEFCU.
