Minority & Women-Owned Business Certification

Is your business a “certified” Minority and/or Women Owned Business Enterprise? A company is officially recognized by all State agencies and most public authorities as a bona fide minority – or women-owned business enterprise (MWBE) only if it has been certified. Once certified, MWBEs are listed in the “Directory of Certified Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises,” which is used by New York State agencies, public authorities, federal agencies and corporations to find contractors and sub-contractors for procurement opportunities. This means more opportunities for your business!

Filling out the required certification forms can be cumbersome; but the Capital Region Chamber can help by guiding you through the process. For your business to qualify as a MWBE, it must be at least 51 percent owned and controlled by the minority members and/or women.
