Capital Roots recently welcomed three new members to its Board of Directors. The 21-member board works closely with Capital Roots’ staff to develop innovative programs that are implemented by the 40-year-old non-profit. Headquartered at the Urban Grow Center on River Street in Troy, Capital Roots currently nourishes more than 175,000 residents in four counties with 480 tons of fresh, affordable produce each year.
Barbara Featherstonhaugh of Schenectady County joins Capital Roots’ board. Featherstonhaugh is a devoted community volunteer in the Capital Region who owns a small hobby farm in Duanesburg. Featherstonhaugh brings with her a keen interest in horticulture and a passion for educating others about the importance of the land to health and food security.
David Krupski of Saratoga County joins Capital Roots’ board. Krupski is the Regional President of NBT Bank and holds nearly 25 years of experience in financial services for both bank and non-bank institutions. He additionally maintains board positions with the Clifton Park IDA, United Way of the Greater Capital Region and the Center for Economic Growth (CEG).
Wendy Meola of Albany County joins Capital Roots board. Meola is the Office Manager at the Law Office of Rudolph J Meola and has been involved in Capital Roots’ Communications Committee as a volunteer since 2004. Meola brings with her years of marketing and strategic management experience.
