Shut Down Negative Messages

The person next to you is beautiful. That doesn’t mean you aren’t. All around us every day are messages — who we should look like and what defines “beauty.” When we think we don’t measure up, what happens? A poor body image can lead to low self-esteem, which can affect every aspect of life.

Join Girls Inc. on Thursday, February 18 for breakfast and a Community Conversation.

Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region’s 2016 Ambassador, Miss New York Outstanding Teen Alisa Vasquez, will moderate a panel discussion among local experts about the correlation between Body Image and Self-Confidence and how to help ourselves and others to be accepting, and proud, of our individuality. There will be time set aside for attendees to ask questions of the panelists as well as a resource table.

Have breakfast with us at 7:30am in College Park Hall on the Union College campus. Program begins promptly at 8:00am and concludes at 9:00am.
