Devils Win Again, Down Bruins for Third Straight Victory

The Albany Devils pushed their winning streak to three and their point streak to five games thanks to a 4-2 victory against the Providence Bruins Friday at Dunkin’ Donuts Center. Reid Boucher had a pair of goals and rookie Vojtech Mozik registered three assists. Blake Pietila had a goal and an assist and Brandon Burlon had two helpers. Joseph Blandisi also scored.

Yann Danis extended his winning streak to three games and moved his regulation unbeaten streak to nine starts (7-0-2). He made 21 saves on 23 shots.

Albany, which scored four goals on just 15 shots, improves to 7-3-2-0 on the season. Providence moves to 3-7-3-0.

The Devils jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first 32:06 of play. Blandisi scored on a wrister form the right circle at 11:42 of the first and Pietila followed with a put-back chance on the power play at 14:57.

In the second, Boucher sent a hammer past Providence’s Zane McIntyre at 12:06 with the man advantage. Providence responded with a Brett Bellemore tally at 17:44.

Boucher added his second of the night at 1:57 of the third and Providence’s Noel Acciari scored at 4:41 to produce the final result.

As it has done all season long, the Devils power play established its dominance. Albany went 2-4 with the man advantage. For the year, the Devils have two or more power-play goals in four games, including three of the last four. Additionally, they have a league-high 16 power play goals, scoring at least one in 10 for 12 games.
