July 21, 2015Save $25 on Saratoga Opera’s World Premiere”The Long Walk”
Don’t miss out! Opera Saratoga has one last performance of its hit new opera “The Long Walk” on Saturday, July 25 at 7:30 p.m.
The opera is a riveting new work, based on the memoir by Brian Castner about the challenges he faced upon returning from his tour of duty in Iraq. The work was developed by Opera Saratoga’s dynamic, visionary new Artistic Director, Lawrence Edelson through a program he founded and runs in New York City called “The American Lyric Theater.” Larry puts gifted young composers and librettists together and helps them workshop and develop new American operas. The immensely gifted composer, Jeremy Howard Beck and the amazing playwright, Stephanie Fleischmann worked with Mr. Castner over a period of three years to develop his compelling memoir into a mesmerizing work for the theater. It is an absolute triumph, a musical theater work of overwhelming creativity and power. The production is also extraordinary; the singing, acting, and staging are all of the highest caliber.
