This Saturday, June 27, is a big day for the epilepsy community with two events being held to raise funds and public awareness of a disorder shared by almost 3 million Americans including an estimated 395,000 New Yorkers.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York (EFNENY) will hold its 6th Annual Hudson Valley Stroll for Epilepsy at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, NY.  All funds raised by this event will be used to support the programs and services offered by EFNENY at no cost to an estimated 11,000 people with epilepsy who live in Ulster, Sullivan or Dutchess counties.

“Heroes” actor Greg Grunberg and “Pawn Star” Rick Harrison will co-host the “Talk About It for Epilepsy” Netathon presented by the national Epilepsy Foundation and Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc.  This unique 12-hour live streaming event will be broadcast from Hollywood and will raise awareness and funds supporting the Foundation’s mission and the community it serves.  For more information, including the back stories of Mr. Grunberg and Mr. Harrison and their connection with epilepsy, go to http://www.epilepsy.com/release/2015/6/heroes-actor-greg-grunberg-pawn-star-rick-harrison-co-host-talk-about-it.
