October 14, 2026Latham Insurance Agency Raises $7,000 for American Cancer Society
A sea of pink took over Northeastern Insurance’s Latham office as employees, local businesses, insurance carrier partners, customers, and community members came together to support the fight against breast cancer. The agency’s “Insuring Hope” fundraiser has officially raised $7,000 for the American Cancer Society, doubling the original $3,500 raised through a 100% donation match from Northeastern Insurance.
The event was part of President and CEO Michael Venezio’s 2026 campaign as an ACS Men Wear Pink Ambassador, a nationwide initiative that empowers men to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research, support, and prevention.
“Our community showed up in an incredible way, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who helped make this possible,” said Venezio. “Breast cancer impacts so many families, including people right here in our own community. We wanted to create an event that brought people together for a meaningful cause, and by matching every dollar raised, we were able to double our impact.”
The afternoon featured a visit from the iconic pink CDTA bus, a Wall of Hope honoring those affected by cancer, raffles, a silent auction, and interactive activities that brought the community together in support of the cause. Attendees embraced the pink theme while enjoying local food, specialty coffee, and opportunities to support the fundraiser.
Local businesses helped bring the event to life, including Styled Studio, which offered pink hair extensions and permanent jewelry; Coccadotts Cake Shop and Bare Blends, which provided local, festive food offerings; and Symphonic Coffee Co., which brought a mobile coffee cart to the event. Nothing Bundt Cakes, Hoffman Car Wash, and Main Street America also contributed items for the silent auction.
The fundraiser was made possible in part by the generous sponsorship of Northeastern Insurance’s carrier partners: Liberty Mutual Insurance, Progressive, Dryden Mutual Insurance Co., The Hanover Insurance Group, Erie and Niagara Insurance, Sterling, Leatherstocking Cooperative Insurance, NYCM Insurance, Merchants Insurance Group, Plymouth Rock Assurance, and Selective.
The $7,000 contribution represents more than a fundraising milestone. It reflects a community-wide commitment to supporting individuals and families affected by breast cancer and advancing the American Cancer Society’s mission.
