Goodwill Expands Workforce Mission with New Clifton Park Store

Goodwill of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey is expanding its impact in the Capital Region with the opening of a new store in Clifton Park. More than a retail destination, the new location advances Goodwill’s mission of creating opportunities through employment, job training, sustainability, and affordable shopping. Revenue generated through store sales helps fund workforce development programs, skills training, and community services that empower individuals on their path to greater independence and self-sufficiency.

The milestone was celebrated with a ribbon cutting hosted in partnership with the Capital Region Chamber, where community leaders, elected officials, and supporters gathered to welcome Goodwill to Clifton Park.

President and CEO Katy Gaul-Stigge spoke about Goodwill’s commitment to removing barriers to employment through the organization’s vision of leaving “no talent behind.”

“We believe in the power of work,” said Gaul-Stigge. “What we do with the money raised in our stores is support job training, upskilling, and workforce development for thousands of people. This store is truly from the community to the community, supporting sustainability, entrepreneurship, and individuals looking for a hand up.”

State Senator James Tedisco praised Goodwill’s impact, noting that organizations like Goodwill are on the front lines of helping residents reach their full potential.

“Our job is to help remove obstacles so people can be everything they can be,” Tedisco said. “You do that every day through the services and opportunities you provide.”

Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh highlighted the organization’s broad community impact, emphasizing that every purchase made at Goodwill directly supports workforce development and programs that help individuals achieve self-sufficiency and independence.

Town of Clifton Park Deputy Supervisor Agatha Reed welcomed Goodwill’s investment in the community, calling the new store “a tremendous addition” that will attract visitors from throughout the region while creating meaningful opportunities for local residents.

All 2026 ribbon cuttings of the Capital Region Chamber and its affiliates are sponsored by Community Bank, N.A.
