Staples Celebrates Party City Integration with Ribbon Cutting in Clifton Park

Staples in Clifton Park is continuing its investment in the local community with the store’s new integration of Party City, bringing expanded celebration and party offerings to shoppers throughout the busy Exit 9 corridor. A longtime fixture in the area, the store has served Capital Region businesses, families, and organizations for years, and the latest addition reflects its ongoing commitment to meeting community needs.

To celebrate the milestone, the Capital Region Chamber hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony alongside Staples General Manager Jerry Jurado, a 23-year company veteran. Jurado welcomed Chamber members, local leaders, and community partners while reflecting on the store’s longstanding presence in Clifton Park. He shared his excitement for the new addition and emphasized its value to local families—something he understands personally as a father of nine.

Clifton Park Supervisor Phil Barrett spoke to the broader economic impact of the partnership, noting that the previous closure of Party City was a “big blow to the town.” He underscored the importance of restoring these services locally and highlighted Staples as a key contributor to the area’s growth. As an early investor in the redevelopment of Exit 9 more than 25 years ago, Staples has helped shape the corridor into the thriving hub for healthcare, retail, and dining it is today. Barrett expressed appreciation for the company’s long-standing commitment, noting the town’s pride in having Staples as part of its business community.

The ceremony also included recognition on behalf of New York State Senator Jim Tedisco, presented by Ryan Aguam, honoring Staples for its continued dedication to the region.

This Chamber ribbon cutting not only celebrated a new in-store experience but also reinforced the ongoing revitalization of the Exit 9 corridor—ensuring Staples remains a cornerstone of local commerce for years to come.

All 2026 ribbon cuttings of the Capital Region Chamber and its affiliates are sponsored by Community Bank, N.A.
