Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany will host its 14th annual “Gala for Good” on Thursday, June 18 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carondelet Hospitality Center, 385 Watervliet Shaker Road in Latham.
Catholic Charities Gala for Good will highlight the impactful work of Catholic Charities in providing compassionate, dignified solutions for people in need every day while honoring Ashley Miller and Chris Onorato for their longstanding commitment to service and community. Ashley, Director of Communications and Community Outreach for the North Colonie Central School District and co-host of Onorato & Miller on NewsChannel 13, and Chris, Morning Show Anchor and Host at WNYT-TV, have co-hosted the Gala for Good for the past eight years, bringing warmth, humor, and heart to each event.
Together, they founded the Nash Weston Onorato Memorial Foundation in memory of their son, supporting families experiencing infant loss and inspiring kindness through action. Through their generosity, dedication, and unwavering support of Catholic Charities and the broader community, Ashley and Chris continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

“We are honored to recognize Ashley Miller and Chris Onorato at this year’s Gala for Good for their extraordinary commitment to serving others and strengthening our community,” said Catholic Charities CEO Sister Betsy Van Deusen, CSJ. “For the past eight years, Ashley and Chris have brought tremendous energy, compassion, and joy to this event as our emcees, while continually supporting the mission of Catholic Charities in meaningful ways beyond the gala itself. Their dedication to uplifting others, both personally and through the Nash Weston Onorato Memorial Foundation, reflects the very spirit of compassion and kindness that Gala for Good celebrates.”
Proceeds from the gala will support the 87 vital programs and services that Catholic Charities provides across 14 counties, including: affordable housing; food insecurity and emergency assistance services; family and child support programs; services for survivors of domestic violence; and a number of human service programs targeting the underserved and impoverished.
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany is one of the largest providers of social service programs in upstate New York. In 2025, approximately 78,000 people benefitted from these programs, with many receiving additional services alongside the assistance they initially sought.
“It will be an evening of celebration, connection, and community. It’s an event that will not only bring our mission to life, but will celebrate the good in the community,” Sister Betsy said. “Because of you, it’s the good we do!”
This year a virtual Giving Tree will debut online featuring hearts for purchase to support essential programs.
Giving Trees may also be purchased at the Gala for Good which will feature live music by Kilashandra; various cuisine stations; beer, wine and soda; raffle baskets, a silent auction and a cash raffle with a grand prize of $1,500. Cash raffle tickets can be purchased online.
