May 13, 2026Chick-fil-A Celebrates Grand Opening at Latham Farms
The grand opening of Chick-fil-A at Latham Farms was recently celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 12 recognizing both significant local investment and strong community impact. The event brought together local leaders, Chamber representatives, and community partners to welcome the new location to the Town of Colonie.
Local Owner-Operator Jeremiah Mills Lamptey marked the occasion by being presented with a Silver Investor certificate from Shawn Daley, Senior Director of Membership Development at the Capital Region Chamber, recognizing his commitment to the business community. Lamptey, who began his journey with Chick-fil-A as a 16-year-old team member under mentor Bill Diggs, reflected on his goal to “pay it forward” by creating opportunities for others. He has already hired more than 100 employees and established meaningful partnerships with local organizations, including Joseph’s House and the Regional Food Bank, the latter receiving a $25,000 donation.
The brand’s legacy was highlighted, noting Chick-fil-A’s founding in 1946 and its growth to more than 3,000 locations nationwide. They emphasized the company’s unique take on the owner-operator model, which empowers local leaders to make a direct and lasting impact in the communities they serve.
Town Supervisor Peter Crummey welcomed the new business, reinforcing Colonie’s role as a hub for economic growth and investment. He was joined by Town Board member Julian Kovac and members of the Latham Fire Department in showing support for the opening.
The celebration concluded with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and flag raising, officially marking Chick-fil-A’s arrival as a new community partner dedicated to service, leadership, and local engagement.
