Karen Tedesco, M.D. Named Practice President of New York Oncology Hematology

New York Oncology Hematology has named Dr. Karen Tedesco as practice president, succeeding Dr. Todd Doyle, who recently completed his term.

Tedesco began practicing at NYOH in 2004 and is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist who holds multiple leadership roles within NYOH. Her appointments have included director of the NYOH Hereditary Cancer Risk Assessment Program, vice chair of the NYOH Research Committee, program leader of the NYOH Physician Mentoring Program, group leader of the NYOH Women Physicians’ Group, and, previously, serving as vice president and treasurer of the NYOH Board of Directors.

In addition to her contributions at NYOH, Dr. Tedesco is active in the broader medical community, serving on clinical and local non-profit boards. Her work and community engagement have been recognized with numerous honors, including the University of Michigan House Officer Research Award, the William J. Williams Award in Internal Medicine, the AMWA Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation, the To Life! Extra Mile Award, and the NYOH Community Cancer Foundation Golden Hanger Award.

“I am honored to serve as practice president of New York Oncology Hematology,” Tedesco said. “NYOH has a strong tradition of collaboration, clinical excellence and compassionate care. I am grateful for the leadership of Dr. Doyle and look forward to building on that foundation as we continue to advance patient care and expand access to specialized programs.”

NYOH thanked Doyle for his leadership and contributions to the practice.

As practice president, Tedesco will help guide key strategic initiatives, including continued growth of clinical research, expansion of specialty services, and planning for the NYOH Regional Cancer Center, which is expected to open for patient care in early 2027.
