December 2, 2025Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids Celebrates Grand Opening in Colonie
Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids has officially opened its newest location at 1814 Central Avenue, bringing a fresh, fun, and inclusive approach to children’s haircuts in the Capital Region.
The salon is designed to make every visit stress-free and memorable, with themed chairs, entertainment options, and special treats that help kids—including those with special needs—feel confident and celebrated.
Owner Catherine Ogunjobi, who spent 25 years in science including 18 years at Regeneron, shared her inspiring transition to entrepreneurship. Motivated by her children, she first launched Sharkey’s in Nanuet, NY, and now brings the same passion and care to families in Colonie.
The grand opening event welcomed community leaders, elected officials, and local business supporters, including Senator Jake Ashby and Deputy Supervisor Rick Field. Guests toured the salon and learned about Sharkey’s mission to “WOW every customer” by creating a joyful, inclusive environment.
Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids is now open and ready to transform haircuts into adventures for families across the Capital Region.
