November 13, 2025Empire State Sports Council Celebration
Empire State Sports Council was founded to address the lack of physical development opportunities for all ages and now produces two major annual events: the Liberty Tour Track & Field Series and the Liberty Games. In 2026, they will launch the Empire State Corporate Challenge, a statewide fitness initiative that includes dodgeball, tug-of-war, 3-on-3 basketball, track & field, pickleball, volleyball, walking, and a 5K run — all designed to be inclusive and family-friendly.
The organization’s mission is to promote physical development, teamwork, and community engagement through accessible and fun athletic events. Their unique approach welcomes participants of all ages and skill levels, from children to seniors, and encourages families to get active together.
The Capital Region Chamber was excited to host a ribbon cutting ceremony in celebration of Member Empire State Sports Council (ES Sports) and the launch of their newest initiative, the Empire State Corporate Challenge.
The event took place at Rensselaer Jr./Sr. High School, and was attended by Chamber staff, Ambassadors, and a strong showing of community leaders including NYS Assembly Member John T. McDonald, Joseph Kardash, Superintendent of Rensselaer City School District, and Empire State Sports Council Board Members.
All 2025 ribbon cuttings of the Capital Region Chamber and its affiliates are sponsored by Community Bank, N.A.
