Capitol District Supply Celebrates 80 Years of Service and 30 Years in Schenectady

Capitol District Supply proudly marked its 80th anniversary and 30 years of service in Schenectady with a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Capital Region Chamber. The family-owned company has been a trusted source for plumbing parts, accessories, pipes, valves, and fittings for eight decades, serving homeowners and contractors alike through showrooms in Albany, Saratoga, and Schenectady.

To honor this milestone, the company recently completed a remodel of its Schenectady showroom. The refreshed space highlights Kohler products and showcases Capitol District Supply’s expansive inventory designed to support both residential upgrades and large-scale construction projects. From this central location, the business continues to play a role in Schenectady’s revitalization, adapting to industry changes while providing the exceptional service that Capital Region families have come to expect.

The Zima family, who have guided Capitol District Supply for generations, remain at the helm, ensuring the company’s rare distinction as a family-owned and operated business. Their dedication has not only built a thriving enterprise but also strengthened their ties to the community.

The September 18th celebration concluded with recognition from local leaders. Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara’s office presented the Zima family with a proclamation honoring the company’s longstanding contributions. Chamber staff, Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy, and State Senator Jim Tedisco also joined in marking the occasion.
